A bit about me

I graduated from De-Montfort University in 1996 with a First Class Hons degree in Mechanical Engineering. Since then, I have worked in a number of engineering fields from machine building to instrumentation. In my role at SCITEK, I enjoy the variety of work and solving mechanical design challenges.

A bit about me

After starting out as an apprentice toolmaker and then fulfilling roles in CNC machining/programming, design and applications engineering, I now work as a mechanical design engineer at SCITEK. The role involves working on all aspects of projects from initial queries, quoting and concept work, through to detailed design, build, installation and commissioning, and managing the project through to completion. My qualifications include a BSc (Hons) in Technology & Engineering Management and a HND in Mechanical Engineering.Outside of work, my interests are football, cars, bikes, mountain biking, exercising, family/social activities and DIY projects.

A bit about me

I am an experienced Design Consultant with a demonstrated history of working in the aerospace industry and special purpose/ R&D industries. In my role at SCITEK, I enjoy bringing concept requirements to life through “out of the box” thinking, redesigning past experiences into present requirements.Outside of work, I am a husband and father of two who enjoys tackling most DIY jobs at home. Since joining SCITEK, my wife and I have trained and become registered Foster Parents, helping young people who may not have had such a supportive background as our own children.

A bit about me

I am a Chartered Engineer. In my role at SCITEK, I am particularly interested in projects involving computer simulation, as well as flow and heat transfer analysis.

A bit about me

I graduated from Durham University with a MEng in General Engineering, specialising in Aeronautics. After spending two years at Rolls-Royce in a variety of different technical roles, I joined SCITEK to pursue work in Research & Development. My role at SCITEK involves a blend of both mechanical and software design. Outside of work I regularly train with the Derby Athletic Club sprints group and I am working towards my Spanish B1 level.

A bit about me

I graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a Masters in Mechanical Engineering in 2021 before joining SCITEK Consultants Ltd. in July 2021.Working at SCITEK gives me the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a range of engineering disciplines, which keeps working at SCITEK both interesting and challenging.In my spare time I enjoy rock climbing and videogames.

A bit about me

After 2 years working in the automotive industry I joined SCITEK as a mechanical design engineer. At SCITEK I support the team in the design and development of test rigs from creating concept ideas and sketches to producing technical drawings ready for manufacture. There is a large variety in the work at SCITEK and I enjoy the different challenges that each project brings. I’m also currently working towards a BEng mechanical Engineering degree at Derby University.Outside of work I enjoy running and going for walks with my dog.

A bit about me

I obtained a MEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from Loughborough University and continued on to complete a PhD and post-Doctoral research for Caterpillar using advanced optical diagnostics to characterise flow structures in an optical engine that I designed and built. At SCITEK I am involved in a wide range of projects that involve the mechanical design of test rigs, software development in LabView and experimental testing. Outside of work, I enjoy walking and cycling in the great outdoors.

A bit about me

I completed a PhD at the Cambridge University Whittle Laboratory in 2006 on thermoacoustic pressure-gain combustors for gas turbines. I then began a fourteen year career at Rolls-Royce in which I held various roles with a general focus on turbomachinery aerodynamics, functional design of aerothermal systems and novel thermodynamic cycles. On secondment to Bangalore I led the creation of a new aerothermal capability with line responsibility for 35+ engineers. I have tried to stay at the cutting edge of aerothermal research and most enjoy working at the interface between industry and academia. I have worked closely with many world-leading research groups either as a researcher myself or as a technical programme lead.At SCITEK I enjoy working with customers to agree requirements and scoping out preliminary technical solutions. Whilst my background is heavily biased towards aerothermal technologies I am also learning new skills such as 3D-imaging and vibration management.Outside of work I try to get outdoors as much as possible, either riding my bike, running with my dog or playing with my daughter.

I have 30 years experience in industry, from Design Office through to Technical Project Management. The majority of this time has been served in the Aerospace Industry. I joined SCITEK after working for 5 years in a major blue chip company. At SCITEK, I enjoy the variety and hands-on nature of the business.

A bit about me

I achieved a MEng (Hons) degree in Mechanical engineering and completed my PhD at Loughborough University. My role at SCITEK is as a Consultant Technical Project Lead. This is a multi-disciplined, diverse role with a Mechanical engineering bias that is accompanied by the application of science and utilises my specialist knowledge in optical diagnostic techniques.

A bit about me

I have 12 years’ experience in the research and development of gas turbines. Outside of work I have a keen interest in aviation and enjoy flying and maintaining my own aircraft.

I joined SCITEK after completing a Masters in Mechanical Engineering at Loughborough University. My role at SCITEK now encompasses both the mechanical and software design of component and system test rigs.Outside of work I am a qualified scuba diving instructor and spend most of my time either teaching or diving off of the British coastline.
